So many of my family members have been diagnosed with this terrible Diabetes disease,

Lynn Pratt decided to make this project in honor of her daughter Ashley. For those of you who have not heard, her five year old daughter, Ashley, has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She is an amazing kid and continues to impress us with her great attitude towards this disease. ALL proceeds from this project will go directly to the American Diabetes Association in Ashleys' name!

The purses are approximately 7" across x 4 1/2" tall x 4" deep. They will easily fit many cards and envelopes inside and would be great to hold swaps!

Christmas Balloon Card

CHRISTMAS BALLOON PUNCH ART

Christmas card which showcases the Deck the Hall Designer Series Paper!

•Punch Power! Balloons are so easy to create with the 2" x 1-3/8" Oval Punch. I simply punched five ovals using various patterns from Deck the Halls. To add depth and dimension, the top three were adhered to ovals punched from the cardboard that comes with the paper! After adhering to the cardboard, the edges were rounded with a Sanding Block and distressed with Soft Suede ink.

 •Layer your Top Notes! The Top Note Die and Big Shot were used to create two die cuts, one from Deck the Halls Designer Paper, the second from Soft Suede card stock. Paper Snips were used to trim the patterned Top Note at the perforation lines.

•Snip! Snip! The "Balloon Gondola" from Sweet Centers was stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. It was then snipped out with Paper Snips and adhered to the Top Note base.

•It all in the details! Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding is adorned with three Basic Pearls. An Antique Brad accents the Fan-Fold Flower.

Finish with a kiss! Gold Glow Smooch Spritz adds a beautiful patina to the entire card!

French Foliage Thanksgiving treats

Tonight Annie and I were throwing around some ideas, just can't get our mojo going..

So, we're going to take a break and watch a movie....maybe be back later with some fresh ideas.

This simple Thanksgiving treat is something we just threw together.

The pumpkin was created with the Stampin Up small oval,

we used the decorative lablel punch for the stem.

The stamp set used was French Foliage.

 (love this fall stamp set!)

Happy Lashes Sliding Pop Up Card instructions:

To create this card, you will need the following pieces of cardstock:
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base (shimmery white)
5 3/8" x 4" pop up back piece (marina mist) - layer snowflake print with one end aligned and small border on 3 sides, score at 1 1/2" from the aligned end
5 1/4" x 3 7/8" snowflake print paper
1 1/2" x 9" sliding wrap (shimmery white)
1" x 2 1/2" pop up piece (shimmery white) - score at 1/2" on one end
1" x 2 3/4" card back prop piece (marina mist) - score at 1/2" on each end
1/2" x 1 1/2" pop up prop piece (shimmery white) - score at 1/2" on each end
round tab punch (or substitute) for the pull tab (snowflake print)

Supplies needed for the punch art snowman:
Use all Stampin' Up! punches
Wide Oval in shimmery white - body
1 3/4" Circle in shimmery white - body
Ornament in shimmery white - head
Word Window in black - hat brim
Round tab in black - hat top
Round tab in print - hat band
2 Branches from 2 Step Bird in chocolate chip - arms
small heart from Heart to Heart in cherry cobbler
Peachy Keen Happy Lashes stamp set (PK-460) - 1" stamp

Assembly:


1) Attach wide oval to 1 3/4" circle with dimensional. Stamp and color face on ornament. Glue neck of ornament onto back of wide oval.
2) Clip hat band out of punched round tab. Glue onto black round tab. Glue onto back of head. Attach hat brim to front of head with dimensional.
3) Clip leaves on each branch to create stick arms as shown in the above picture. Glue right arm onto back of body and left arm onto front of body. Glue heart onto chest.
4) Tie ribbon around neck (I used old olive taffetta).
5) Attach snowman to pop up piece on card. Tear some pieces of shimmery white and glue to base of snowman for snow. Add Polar White Flower Soft to snow and a little onto the snowman's tongue.

Funeral Bookmark

Our dearest cousin Celia passed away Monday, she peacefully went in her sleep.

 These are the bookmarks my cousin Annie and I made for her funeral.

Her favorite flowers were Pink Roses

 I typed the poem at the bottom.

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way.

We all were meant to learn

some things,

but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,

Far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,

For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends.

We'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the Lord.

HO! HO! HO! SANTA CARD

Here's a card I received via email...too cute not to share!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Santa is in Las Vegas! He is very easy to create. Just emboss some white card stock using the Big Shot and the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder. Cut it up for the beard and hat trim using an oval shape for a  pattern. Then use the large oval punch for the mustache trimming the ends to a point. The card base is real red. His face, nose, and mouth are blushing bride sponged with pretty in pink. Then use a dauber in pink to add his cheeks. His eyes are the 1/2 circle punch with white gel pen marks. Cut up a green glitter pick, you can find at Michael's or Joann's and add a red glitter brad from the bright pack.

 I feel a class on punch art coming on!

More White Beards - Get your Grump On!

I just love visiting Blinkin', Thinkin' and Inkin', Ellen Kemper's Blog, it always has great punch art tutorials

My favorite part ~ Free!

For my "get well basket" project using Grumpy, I decided to include some pain reliever 'for when you are feeling Grumpy'. I picked up a little sample size pack at the drugstore check out and cleverly attached it to a little card like this:

A slot punch and ribbon - a very low tech solution.

Used red sticky strip to secure this flap to the card base

Here is the scoop on making Grumpy...

Chocolate Chip - wide oval (not the large oval shown in the photo), HOLE from a large oval punched with a wide oval to get the hat edge

Blush Blossom - 1 inch circle, leaf from Two Step Bird, Small Oval

White - two Scallop Oval, re-punch one of them as shown, smallest heart from Heart to Heart

Black - two standard hole punch, HOLE from narrow heart in Heart to Heart -->> move punch up from the hole and punch to get the narrow sliver for eyebrows, toss the black heart and scrap shown in the photo
Sponge Bravo Burgundy ink around the nose

Place the black of the eye at the TOP of the heart - add white highlight with gel pen

Layer beard parts as shown

Almost assembled but gosh, he doesn't look Grumpy yet! That is because the EYEBROWS are the key to his personality.

NOW he is grumpy!

Nose is popped up on a dimensional.

I like Grumpy - he may be my fave of the punched dwarfs - I just don't want to look or act like him. But I guess keeping those eyebrows plucked would make anyone grumpy. (grin)

Oh, who cares! - you just came for the tutorial anyway, right? (grin)

Here is a "how to" for Doc.

• More Mustard - full heart (trimmed with scissors) and large oval HOLE punched with wide oval
• Blush Blossom - 1 inch circle, 1/2 inch circle, small oval
• Basic Black - two standard hole punch
• Vellum, sponged with bashful blue - two standard hole punch
• White - smallest heart in Heart to Heart

Add pen marks for folds on hat, eyebrows, glasses "ear pieces"
MAKE SURE you get your black eyes CLOSE (as in overlapping) because the glasses will go on the outside of the black parts. Add white highlight with gel pen.

I sponged just a little bravo burgundy on the top of his nose.

To attach the glasses - I rolled up a mini glue dot and stuck that wad at the bottom of his eyes - so your glasses are just attached at the very bottom of the 'lens'. This glue wad will show a little bit now but will be covered by his cheeks and nose.

I drew on a smile but it is not noticeable with the nose attached so you can skip that if you want.

You might notice my "fold" lines are a bit thick on the right Doc - I opened the wrong end of my stampin' write journal pen. Oops!

I have "ideas" for most of the dwarfs - I just have to execute them. (Execute: To perform or carry out what is required i.e., make the projects NOT execute- as in kill the dwarfs).

But I need HELP on one. I'm struggling with a way to use Bashful in the basket. The best I've got so far is putting him on a card and saying "Don't be Bashful, call me if you need anything". Any better ideas out there?

Halloween 2010!

Hello Everyone, I hope everyone had a great Halloween. I just couldn't resist sharing these awesome Halloween pictures of my beautiful granddaughters.

The Friday before Halloween the girls went to Ana's Studios, where they took the most gorgeous pictures....Ana you always do such a wonderful job! Make sure to visit her for the holidays http://www.anastudios.com/

They were so cute, and the weather was perfect for trick or treating. The girls had a great time, they walked so much Andrea even walked right out of her costume. We took pictures of her poor little costume, with the feet all worn out :) And that was quite the journey for her, especially since my poor baby wasn't feeling as great as she could be.

Earlier in the evening we went to my cousin Maria's for a wonderful feast. ribeyes, baked potatoes, corn and a buffet of Halloween goodies...Delicious! 

 Then.......

Later that night we made carmel apples, my mom's famous hot chocolate and chili dogs, YUMMY!

AND......
then the most memorable moment of the night was when Mia lost her tooth!
A good lesson to remember is, never eat carmel apples when you have a loose tooth...lol

           As you can see, she wasn't as excited as we were.....LOL

It was a great night! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween also.

Now on to the next batch of holidays!
